So I love all your songs! But for this years talent show we are going to do for your entertainment! And well we were all wondering if you would come and maybe help us and be in it with us? I watched you on american idol. That was fun, but your song "what do you want from me" just really saved a relationship for me. I just take so much from so many people and then just fall apart from exhaustion. Then everyone thinks something is wrong with me. exhusband, daughter, husband, friends. I am suppose to fix everything for everyone. So I just saw a recording of you singing that song really softly and gently and it spoke to me. So I asked my exhusband, "what do you want from me to make you stop hating me." For 18 years he has hated me for all of his issues. He is an alcoholic and it has affected me the most. He tries to turn my daughter against me while I am trying raise her. She is amazing by the way. But sometimes she hates me too for him to make him happier. He wants to make everyone hate me for his own issues that he needs to deal with in his life. When I said that....he couldn't answer. I have never heard such silence. He apologized and told me he cared so much about me and he never meant to hurt me. IHe is a songwriter in Nashville and very successful. just needed to finally make sense of why people were wishing me harm. It finally makes sense I am happy and they are mad at me for my happiness. I couldn't figure out what I could do to make everyone happy. So that song felt my pain. Thank you for making me ask that question. He couldn't come up with what he wanted from me. Thank you for taking my heartache away because he didn't want anything from me but to make his anger go away and he finally realized only he can work on that issue. It is a happy but still an exhausting day until I bounce back from hate. At least I know there will be no hate tomorrow. He couldn't hate me because he couldn't answer the question. Thank you.
