Ever find it interesting how googling "Adam Lambert" produces more results about his supposed homosexuality than videos of his performances? Message boards are being bombarded by posts of "omg, adam is gay." News stories are even being written about this rumor. Well here's something new for you: I think the main reason these assumptions are being made is simply good gossip and drama. Take a talented, unique man from a popular television show and make him out to be gay just because he's a little different. Because looking at the evidence, it's impossible for me to see Adam as completely gay.
What evidence, you may ask? Well first let's look at the obvious. Adam is constantly sporting skinny jeans, makeup, nail polish and heels. This might sound like an argument for the opposite side, but if you really think about it, does this sound like any gay friend you may have? This is the "gay" STERYOTYPE. We've all seen guys like Adam at school or in our neighborhoods. Makeup and nail polish for men is becoming incredibly popular, as are skinny jeans. These men are often considered gay, but most gay people I know dress and act perfectly regular, unlike the outrageous Adam Lambert.
Next I'll address those racy photos of him (assuming they aren't fake, of course). Let me just be the first to say that kissing someone of your gender does NOT make you gay. Experimenting is all the rage these days, especially for young people. Don't tell me you've never gotten a bit tipsy at a party and get into some crazy situations.
I've also heard rumors that Adam has a boyfriend. But guess what? His friends have been quoted saying that Adam has had girlfriends as well. What bothers me is that in order to be more dramatic, people completely overlook the whole bi-sexual possibility. And to be honest, most people aren't totally gay or straight, they're somewhere in the middle. So let's not use the term "gay" when referring to anybody unless you're absolutely sure of it. Bi-sexual and homosexual are two very different things.
Finally I will touch (but not dwell) on Adam's relationship with fellow Idol contestant Allison Iraheta. I mean let's face it guys, the attraction was there. Besides, how many times have we heard the "she's like a little sister" excuse? Most likely, Adam and Allison were just friends, but undeniably very flirty ones.
The point of this was not to make myself sound like a fangirl or a homophobic. I am just simply pointing out that we shouldn't steryotype or start rumors, because there's always another side to the story.
