"Now, as a more direct response -- Yes, they need to revamp their voting procedure, and do so before next season. They've already lost a lot of viewers as compared with previous season[s], possibly due to many of us becoming jaded from not only the results, but the petty fighting and insults. Who cares what Ryan states is the total of text & phone votes? That says nothing about the actual votes per contestant; something Idol has yet to divulge to their viewers for any season, and why? I've tried posting to their site several times this year concerning the phone line issues, yet my posts always seem to vanish into thin air, further creating a fear of there being some sort of manipulation being done upon some level. No, I'm not a paranoid individual as a rule either *g*, but when given the obvious public support for Adam this year, one has to ask for answers.

Not to say I am well-educated in how something like this might work, but surely some type of "single vote" verification system should be available to put into place in this day and age, right? Or perhaps a login system via the web based upon an individual's IP address, or even personal address could work (since creating a screen name would not give them a singular tracking ability). All I am aware of right now is how badly the current system seems to function. Even given the "swing" votes there might have been from either those rallying against a person's believed/supposed stereotype image or a judge[s] support could not have altered the end results this year by THAT much, could they? Hard to tell when Idol will not speak, or even allow it's viewers to speak.

Can we get their attention, or will it take a lack of voting to turn the trick?

"Not only that, remember that everytime Simon declares his favorite, like he did with Archuleta, it becomes a "kiss of death". Maybe Simon & the rest of the judges ought to stop displaying favoritism. Not that I disagree with them, but, viewers tend to go for the underdog most of the time. The trend of AI viewers clearly shows they are a conservative lot & aren't open to bold, powerful artists like Adam. I can now predict that next year's AI hopefuls will be a total bore. Those like Adam will shun going into its platform. Artists like Adam aren't in the league of AI's mediocre viewership. One has to be a CULTURED viewer to appreciate somebody like Adam. Even Kris knows it & in fact, he said it, "Adam desreves this more." Having said that, I think Adam made a smart decision too to join AI so he could showcase his remarkable talent. Ultimately, his goal of becoming a recording artist will happen sooner than Kris can. David Archuleta cut his debut single even before David Cook did & Archuleta's record sales have skyrocketed more than Cook's. I'm a Cook fan but, I adore both of them. However, I just want to point out the trend in this AI platform. So, there. . . I'm giving up watching AI. My artistic senses are too superior for that kind of program. If only I were powerful enough to harness all the votes to BOYCOTT AI, heavens, I would."
